Now that Oliver is into books and can spend more time entertaining himself I thought it would be an excellent idea to make him a little reading nook where he can enjoy his books and spend some quiet time while I throw in a load of washing and have a cup of tea.
He enjoys now at 2 years to shuffle through books and call the images that he knows the words for- an activity I definitely want to encourage.
Because his toddler room is all Woodland creatures themed I went ahead and made these lovely cushions to give it the snug feeling and to have a designated space for his quiet time activities.
To put this together, I purchased a cot mattress, a blanket to wrap in the mattress, three cushions and three plain green cushion cases all from IKEA.
I went ahead and sewn in the appliques on all the cases and created a sofa like space just right for his size, his bedroom is not that big; but it fits perfect under the window.
