I don’t know if you’ve seen my Woodland DIY felt cushion case but today I am keeping the Woodland Creatures theme and doing this adorable bear felt plushie.
To make this plushie, you will need the common materials like scissors, needle and matching thread.
You can choose to make it with more funky colours, or if you are making it for your child nursery choose colours that go with the theme.
You will start by gathering all your materials, download and print the template. To attach the smaller parts of the bear, you can use a hot glue gun or just stitch them by hand. Sometimes I find them too fiddly to work with, but they look better done by hand. I like when you can see the thread and the way it’s been stitched. I find that it gives an extra lovely handmade look, but if you are going for a more subtle finished look a matching thread will go better.
You can use embroidery floss or thread again, depending on what finish you are after. I made a running stitch on the tummy and a blanket stitch for the rest of the plushie.
I made a running stitch on the tummy and a blanket stitch for the remainder of the plushie.
We will start by attaching all the small body parts together like the eyes and the paws. After that, attach the pieces to the main body and stitch the ear tips and arms. After you created the front, it’s easy just add your stuffing and sew shut the bear.
I hope you will have lots of fun in creating this plushie and would love to hear from you if you have any questions. Want to make another similar plushie? Check out this gorgeous fox. Have fun!
